Job Summary:
The Temporary Accountant will provide support to the finance team in managing financial transactions, reporting, and general accounting functions. This position will involve working with Sage Intacct accounting software, assisting with job costing, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and other essential accounting tasks. The role is perfect for an accounting professional looking to contribute to a well-established company during a temporary need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- General Ledger Maintenance: Perform regular account reconciliations, ensure accuracy, and assist in posting journal entries.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Assist with the processing of invoices, payments, and collections to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
- Job Costing and Project Accounting: Provide support with job costing for ongoing construction projects, tracking costs, and assisting with project cost reports.
- Sage Intacct Management: Utilize Sage Intacct accounting software for financial data tracking, generating reports, and ensuring data accuracy.
- Audit and Compliance Assistance: Support audit preparations by gathering necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Cash Flow Monitoring: Assist in monitoring cash flow and ensuring sufficient funds are available for operational needs.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team and other departments to provide financial support and assist with various accounting tasks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Experience with an ERP accounting software (preferred).
- Familiarity with basic construction accounting practices, including job costing and project tracking.
- Knowledge of GAAP and general financial reporting principles.
- Strong attention to detail with solid analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
